Weekly Update 🎉: Progress, Delays & What’s Next

TL;DR
- We're still working through major bugs and backend challenges—launch is delayed beyond our original June 10 goal
- Async processing, small functionality bugs, and UI polish are the current blockers
- Growth continues with 1,400 followers and 130+ on the waitlist
- A new logo system is underway to support Nabb’s cross-platform identity
- Still fully confident in the long-term vision—we’re building something worth the wait
Hi Everyone,
This week’s update isn’t quite the one I was hoping to share, but these are the realities of product development. Let’s get into it.
Development Update
We’re still working through key bugs and performance issues before launch. Our original goal was mid-May, with a conservative backup of June 10. Unfortunately, the app still isn’t ready for release. We’ve hit a few unexpected process bottlenecks, and are now focusing on improving internal workflows to move faster.
Here are the biggest blockers:
- Data Processing Latency: Right now, a save takes 15–30 seconds to process. While this delay doesn’t impact the core value (most users revisit saves hours/days later), we’re building an async queuing system to allow users to save and immediately return to what they were doing. It’s underway, but proving tricky.
- Functionality Bugs: Things like submitting pictures from files (vs. camera roll) and the inability to copy location addresses still need fixing. None are huge, but the backlog of ~50 issues means progress has been slower than we’d like.
- Aesthetic Polish: While this is an MVP, we still want it to feel solid and intentional. A few visual tweaks are in progress to ensure a smooth user experience.
On a more positive note, we’ve made progress on a feature that began as the "Multi-Match Queue" in the prototype and is now integrated into save profiles. If a post mentions multiple places (like restaurants), users can choose which ones to save alongside the original post. Small step, but a meaningful one.

It still feels like a mountain to climb—but we’re making real progress. The goal isn’t perfection, but a reliable, usable product you’ll love from day one.
Growth Update
We’re now approaching 1,400 followers and 130+ waitlist signups. Content slowed last week after my mic broke, but I’ve just ordered a new one and will be back at it soon.
We’re definitely in a “quiet” stretch of the story—the hype of building is hitting the reality of delays. But I’m staying mindful not to overwhelm followers with too many repetitive updates. Once the app goes live, we’ll have a treasure trove of new content to share about how people are actually using Nabb.
Brand Update
Testing the app has reminded me just how important logos are in creating clarity and trust. Since Nabb is designed to unify content from across your digital life, it’s critical that we clearly show where saves came from and where they link to.
So, I’ve spent the past week redesigning icons for the top 1000 apps and websites (about halfway through the list), making sure they match our aesthetic and export cleanly into the backend. Next up: writing scripts to match these logos to their URLs. While this is lower priority than functionality, ~200 of these logos are essential to the user experience at launch.

Vision Update
I’ve gotten great feedback on last week’s post about “Recall Engines” and the future we’re building with Nabb. For those not active on LinkedIn, I’ve also added it to the Updates site so it’s easier to access.
This Week’s Focus
- Finalize a clearer development workflow and prioritize fixes
- Get the async data pipeline stable
- Resume content creation now that I have a working mic—new video coming this week on the realities of delays and the product journey
Looking Ahead
I won’t sugarcoat it, this isn’t where I hoped we’d be by mid-June. But we’re rolling up our sleeves and making the changes needed to cross the finish line.
This remains one of the most rewarding learning experiences of my career, and I still believe in what we’re building: a platform that can reshape how all the apps on your phone work together. Big visions come with big roadblocks. But we’re not chasing hype, we’re building something that lasts.
More to come soon,
Pat
