Weekly Update 🎉: Focus, Migration, and Cofounder Search
TLDR
- Nabb’s focus is now clear: the better save button for Instagram and TikTok
- Migrating all users to the production environment in TestFlight
- Growth efforts paused while we reset and build the team
- Sharing more of the founder story on @patbuildsanapp to keep engagement up
- 20+ cofounder conversations across engineering, product, and marketing
- Top priority: bringing on technical and product cofounders
Hi Everyone,
Refining Nabb’s focus over the last few weeks has been a real turning point. For the first time, I can explain what Nabb is in one sentence and that clarity has made it easier to refine the idea, explain the vision, and have productive conversations about what comes next. It has also made me more energized about what we need to accomplish in the next 12 months.
The two areas that have dominated my time this past week are (1) migrating existing users over to the production environment and (2) having as many conversations as possible with potential technical partners. It has been refreshing to step back from pushing growth and instead focus on setting the foundation for the next chapter. The enthusiasm I’m hearing from others about the bigger vision for Nabb is motivating, and I am seeing more clearly how fast we can move once the right cofounders are in place.
Development Update
The main priority has been migrating everyone into the production environment in TestFlight. You should have received an invite to download the latest version. After installing it, log out of your current Nabb session and sign back up with the same email (or a new one if you’d like). Once you do that, you’ll be starting fresh and I’ll move your old saves over. Most of the time I can do this within a few hours, so thanks for your patience as we work through it.
Growth and Engagement Update
On the growth side, we’ve paused major pushes while development resets. Instead, we’re using @patbuildsanapp to experiment with more of a founder’s journey narrative. The goal is to keep followers engaged and continue building an audience until we find the storyline that clicks. It’s very much a numbers game, and the more content we share, the closer we get to finding what resonates.
Team Update
This is where I’ve been spending most of my energy. After posting a video on Instagram about looking for cofounders, I received a huge response. That led to more than 20 interviews and networking calls with people from engineering, product, and marketing backgrounds, as well as others curious about how they might help. Finding cofounders is not something to rush, but a few conversations have stood out enough to schedule multiple follow up conversations. Over the next few weeks this will stay my primary focus, because bringing on technical and product cofounders is the highest impact step I can take right now to push Nabb forward.
This Week’s Focus
- Continue migrating users into the production environment
- Continue interviewing, networking, and having conversations with potential cofounders
Looking Ahead
This has been one of the most motivating weeks in a while. We finally have a product that can help articulate the vision, and hearing how excited people are to potentially join has been energizing. The app still has a long way to go, but I am more confident than ever that we’re on to something. Social media is messy, and it’s where we all spend most of our time online. Helping people take the inspiration they see and turn it into action is a mission I’m excited to keep building toward.
