Weekly Update 🎉: Co-Founders Wanted as Nabb Gets More Focused

TLDR
- Entering a new chapter with a more focused vision: Social Media’s Better Save Button.
- Transitioning users to the production environment for stability.
- Growth content spotlighting the founder journey until the App Store launch.
- Actively seeking two co-founders: Product/UX lead + Technical/Full-stack Engineer.
Hi Everyone,
The last couple of weeks have been a real inflection point for Nabb. After nearly 10 months of building, testing, and iterating, I have been reflecting on both what is working and what needs to change. I am proud of how far the app has come, but I am also clear-eyed about the many ways it can be better.
- Where We Stand: We onboarded 100 testers who collectively saved close to 1,000 items before sign-in issues disrupted growth. While we have paused onboarding to stabilize the app, the early signal is strong: people are saving a lot, quickly, and consistently. That is proof we are solving a real problem.
- Insights & Focus: One insight has become especially clear: Instagram and TikTok are by far the highest-frequency save sources and also where content is the messiest and most in need of enrichment. These are also the platforms where users are most inspired to act but lack the information to do so. This is where Nabb can deliver the most value, and where we will focus moving forward.
This means Nabb’s next phase will not be about supporting every possible content type. Instead, we will refine toward the stickiest use cases, even if that means letting some go. After a wide exploration phase, this is about narrowing in on the clearest opportunity for growth and impact.
Vision Update
With this new found focus, the vision is sharper: Nabb is Social Media’s Better Save Button.
- Nabb helps people do or buy the things they see on Instagram and TikTok.
- While we may lose some users who wanted a broader tool, doubling down here gives us a clear target audience and a path to monetization.
- At a higher level, two truths are not changing:
1) Social media is the new television, and
2) People are transacting online more than ever.
Nabb sits at the intersection, making social content actionable.
Team Update
This has also been the moment where I realized I cannot do this alone. After nearly a year of solo-founding, I am officially in my Founder Dating era with lots of coffees, brainstorming sessions, and exploratory conversations to find the right partners.
I am ideally looking for two co-founders:
- A Product/UX lead who can own prioritization and user experience.
- A Full-Stack Engineer who is excited to be hands-on with the build.
More than just filling roles, I want people who see Nabb as theirs too, true thought partners who are excited to shape the next chapter with me. If you know anyone who might fit, please send them my way.
Development Update
We have completed the key infrastructure update: separate development and production environments.
- Users with little activity have been moved directly to production (you will need to re-onboard).
- Active users with 2 or more saves will get a personal migration so their content is not lost. I will be reaching out this week to coordinate.
Growth Update
Even with growth paused, we are continuing to build momentum. Our content will lean more heavily into the founder journey, highlighting the ups, downs, and behind-the-scenes of building something from scratch. This not only grows our following but also sets us up with an engaged community when it is time for the full App Store launch.
This Week’s Focus
- Founder conversations: casting a wide net to meet potential partners.
- Migrating the remaining active users to production.
- Refining the pitch deck to reflect the sharper vision.
Looking Ahead
The last two weeks have been challenging, but coming out of them I feel even more conviction about where Nabb is headed. This is the start of Chapter Two: a clearer focus, a stronger vision, and soon a stronger team.
Thanks for being along for the ride,
Pat
