Weekly Update 🎉: Final UX, First Campus Test

TL;DR:
- UX is almost fully finalized (sneak peak below) — backend buildout is now underway
- We’re testing new growth strategies at NYU to reach the college demo
- Focus this week: finalize UX, website plan, and NYU flyer + raffle campaign
- Less than 2 months until launch — the finish line is in sight!
Hi Everyone,
At the risk of sounding a bit repetitive, we’ll keep this week’s update short and sweet. We’re continuing to make steady progress on building the app and are now experimenting with new strategies to grow our following ahead of the May launch.
Development Updates
We’ve finalized nearly all of the UX, with just a few small tweaks remaining. I’ve included a sneak peek of a few screens below so you can get a feel for how the experience is evolving.

Our focus has now shifted to building out the backend—this includes refining the data pipelines and process flows that unify and enrich all the content users send into the app.
Growth Updates
We’re slowly but surely growing our social following and plan to test a few new ideas on NYU’s campus in the coming weeks to drive more engagement with the college community. We’re confident this demo will be drawn to Matchbox as a tool for coordinating events and activities across friend groups, and we’re excited to see how they interact with it—especially given how much time they already spend online.
This Week’s Focus
- Finalize all UX updates so we can shift fully to backend development
- Lock in a plan for the website buildout, including a baseline landing page to explain the app’s functionality to new users
- Finalize flyer + raffle plan for NYU and begin outreach to organization leaders on campus
Looking Ahead
We’re getting closer to launch, and we’re feeling the momentum. The time we put into growth efforts now will pay off in a big way once Matchbox goes live—in less than two months!
Thank you again for all your continued support!
