Weekly Update 🎉: UX Nearly Locked, Campus Kicking Off

Weekly Update 🎉: UX Nearly Locked, Campus Kicking Off

TL;DR:

  • UX is almost done! We’re making final tweaks and sharing a few screenshots this week.
  • Hired our first Brand Ambassador at NYU! Kicking off campus efforts next week.
  • Shifting to a scalable growth strategy. Slower follower growth for now, but a big push is coming in April.
  • App launch is on track for May!

Happy Tuesday,

Let’s get right into it!

Development Updates

We’re in the homestretch of building out the user experience. The team at Divelement has been working incredibly hard, and I’m beyond grateful to be working with such an impressive and thoughtful group.

The goal is to make the experience feel much more like a search engine for all the things you want to remember. The app is shaping up exactly as I envisioned, and I can’t wait to get it into your hands.

Growth Updates

Exciting news—we’ve just hired our first Brand Ambassador at NYU! 🎉 We’re kicking things off by connecting with various entrepreneurial and business-related clubs on campus, and we’ll be running a raffle to encourage students to follow our Instagram. This initiative starts next week!

On the broader growth front, we’ve stepped back from the scrappy tactics that got @patbuildsanapp to 500 followers to focus on a more scalable strategy. As a result, growth has slowed, and hitting 1,000 followers by the end of the month is looking unlikely. That said, we’re still aiming to build as much momentum as possible before launch in May. If you’d like to support, please like and share the content I’m posting each week—it makes a big difference!

This Week’s Focus

  • Wrapping up the UX work—just a few more tweaks, and we’ll have a fully built wireframe.
  • Organizing a much bigger follower push starting in April—more details soon!

Looking Ahead

With the user experience coming together, Matchbox is feeling more real than ever. I’m confident we’re building something people will use in their daily lives, and I continue to feel excited and motivated by the vision of where this project can go.

Thank you again for all the continued support!
