Weekly Update 🎉: The Save Anything App

TL;DR
Matchbox is evolving into the “Save Anything App,” helping you organize and recall everything you love—across all platforms and in real life. Recent updates include:
- Expanded content categories (Recipes, Events, Products)—still in early days and improving.
- New features to improve organization (Groups, Multi-Match List Assignment).
- Support for major real estate platforms and retailers (Redfin, Zillow, Amazon).
Hi Testers!
Another big week in the books! Lists were made, and some of you dove right into sending non-restaurant content—thank you for testing the waters!
It’s been exciting to see how you’re using Matchbox and to hear your thoughts on the expanded focus. Your submissions and ideas are helping refine Matchbox into a more versatile and user-friendly tool.
Major Updates
As a quick reminder, Matchbox is a tool to save anything you like—not just social media content! From links and photos to real-life items like Grandma’s pasta recipe, Matchbox makes it easy to keep everything in one place.
To enhance this functionality, we’ve added new content categories:
- Recipes, Events, and Products now join existing categories like Restaurants and Experiences.
These new categories are in their early stages and may not work perfectly yet. They’re designed to help organize your content and customize how it’s displayed. Each category is getting actively refined and feedback is always welcome.
Product Updates (12/23 - 12/30)
- Multi-Match Process Flow Update: Enhanced the flow for adding matches, with improved options for single and "all" selections.
- Auto List Assignment: When selecting all in the Multi-Match flow, you can now assign all matches to a new or existing list for better organization.
- List Assignment During Submission: When submitting content, you can now automatically assign it to a list once it’s added to your Matchbox.
- Groups: Organize your lists into groups! For example, create a "Trip" group with city-specific lists for better planning.
- Product Pricing: Product prices now appear on summary cards and profiles, when available.
- Real Estate Platforms (Redfin, Zillow, StreetEasy): Save content from major real estate platforms, with more to come.
- Retail Platforms (Amazon, Best Buy): Submit content from retailers like Amazon and Best Buy, with support for more retailers on the way.
Focus Areas for This Week
- Visual Content Snapshots: Explore ways to display a preview of submitted content alongside matches for easier recall.
- Category Refinements: Improve data collection accuracy for all existing categories and identify new ones based on your submissions.
- Phase 2 Testers: Our tester group has grown to over 30 users! The goal is to reach 100 by the end of January. I’ll reach out to many of you for recommendations on who to invite next.
Looking Ahead
It’s hard to believe we’ve only been testing Matchbox for 4 weeks! The progress we’ve made together has been incredible, thanks to your invaluable feedback and support.
As we move into 2025, the focus will be on validating Matchbox as the ultimate “Save Anything App.” Your input has shaped this vision, and I’m deeply grateful for the role you’ve played in its development.
Together, we’re building something truly impactful. I’m excited to keep refining Matchbox and can’t wait to see where this journey takes us in the new year.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
